Plans in Action
Real People. Real Lives. Real Plans at Work.
People often come to us with the same quiet question:
“Are we going to be okay?”
They may have saved diligently.
They may have worked with advisors before.
But they may not yet have clarity about how everything fits together or confidence about what the future truly holds.
These stories show what happens when planning moves from lack of clarity to certainty.
Mark & Valerie
From Worry to “Plan in Action”
For two years, Valerie asked the same question at home:
“Honey, are we going to be okay?”
Mark’s question, when they first came in, was more direct:
“Are we going to have any money left at the end of all this?”
They had worked hard and made thoughtful financial decisions over the years.
But their financial life had grown in pieces.
Different accounts.
Different strategies.
Different decisions made at different times.
No one had ever brought it all together into one coordinated plan.
And without that coordination, they had no way to know if everything they had worked for would truly support the life they wanted in retirement.
So that’s where we began.
We designed a comprehensive financial plan that aligned their assets, income strategies, and long-term goals into one clear structure.
For the first time, they could see how their decisions today supported the life they wanted tomorrow.
When the math aligned with their life, their confidence followed.
Months later, we received a photo from Brookings, Oregon:
“Just wanted to say hi from Brookings, Oregon. Plan in action!”
Their dream for retirement has always been to live part-time in Denver and part-time in Brookings.
Today, that dream is no longer a question mark.
It’s becoming their reality.
Tim & Debbie
From “Someday” to a Plan in Motion
When Tim and Debbie came in, they didn’t really have a plan and Tim wasn’t convinced they needed one.
They talked about returning to Indiana “someday.”
Buying land “if the timing works.”
Building a home “when everything lines up.”
But someday isn’t a strategy.
They had a dream to return to Indiana, buy land, build a home, and rescue horses and dogs.
They had no clear roadmap for how to make it real.
We designed a coordinated financial plan aligned with their timeline, resources, and long-term goals.
Today, they own that land.
They purchased it with cash.
They’re designing their barndominium, mapping pastures, and building the life they talked about for years.
Another plan — not just on paper but unfolding in real life.
Dave & Jenny
From The Mission… to a Mission-Critical Plan
Dave engineers aerospace systems designed to perform flawlessly in space.
Their financial life didn’t feel that precise.
They had done everything right, strong income, maxed retirement accounts, excellent benefits.
But when we modeled their plan through life expectancy, their assets depleted at age 86.
Dave hoped to retire before 65. The numbers didn’t support it comfortably.
We gathered every moving part, 401(k)s, pension projections, Social Security timing, taxes, healthcare costs, and custom designed and built a coordinated plan through age 100.
Instead of depleting at 86, their redesigned structure now shows over $3 million remaining at age 100, and supports a phased retirement, travel, family goals, and long-term flexibility.
“This finally feels engineered, not assumed,” Dave said.
Retirement became a system designed to last.
Shelly & Steven
When “Tinkering” Wasn’t Enough
Shelly is an aerospace engineer who optimizes complex systems for a living.
When she and Steven came in, they were on their fifth financial advisor. They brought an 84-page plan filled with projections, charts, and layered assumptions.
What it lacked was clarity.
Shelly planned to retire in three months. Their question was simple:
“What are we going to live on in August?”
When we built a coordinated model using their real expenses and timing, the math revealed something no one had shown them clearly before: their assets would eventually deplete.
We redesigned the structure, integrated lifetime cash flow, coordinated tax strategy, pension and Social Security timing, and designed income to support lifestyle expenses.
Their living expenses were no longer dependent on market performance. Every income source had a purpose and timeline.
Today, their model shows over $3 million remaining in legacy assets, and they understand why.
“You are our fifth financial planner, and for the first time, we finally understand our financial situation. We feel incredibly confident in the strategies now in place for our future.”
Aerospace runs on integrated systems.
Retirement should too.
Your Plan Can Be in Action, Too
If you’re 5–10 years from retirement and wondering how all the pieces of your financial life truly fit together, you’re not alone.
Planning doesn’t eliminate uncertainty; it may replace guesswork with understanding.
And understanding can change everything.
